How many U know about?

Welcome to Flo's Home Biz & Fun...

How many of these did YOU know about?

___A sealed envelope -- Put in the freezer for a few hours, then slide a knife under the flap. The envelope can then be resealed. (hmmmmmm...)

___Use Empty toilet paper roll to store appliance cords. It keeps them neat and you can write on the roll what appliance it belongs to.

___For icy door steps in freezing temperatures: get warm water and put Dawn dish washing liquid in it. Pour it all over the steps. They won't refreeze. (wish I had known this for the last 40 years!)

___To remove old wax from a glass candle holder, put it in the freezer for a few hours. Then take the candle holder out and turn it upside down. The wax will fall out.

___Crayon marks on walls? This worked wonderfully! A damp rag, dipped in baking soda. Comes off with little effort (elbow
grease that is!).

___Permanent marker on appliances/counter tops (like store receipt BLUE!) rubbing alcohol on paper towel.

___Whenever I purchase a box of S.O.S Pads, I immediately take a pair of scissors and cut each pad into halves. After years of having to throw away rusted and unused and smelly pads, I finally decided that this would be much more economical. Now a box of SO.S pads last me indefinitely! In fact, I have noticed that the scissors get 'sharpened'' this way!

___Blood stains on clothes? Not to worry! Just pour a little hydrogen peroxide on a cloth and proceed to wipe off every drop of blood. Works every time! (Now, where to put the body?) LOL

___Use vertical strokes when washing windows outside and horizontal for inside windows. This way you can tell which side has the streaks. Straight vinegar will get outside windows really clean. Don't wash windows on a sunny day. They will dry too quickly and will probably streak.

___Spray a bit of perfume on the light bulb in any room to create a lovely light scent in each room when the light is turned on.

___Place fabric softener sheets in dresser drawers and your clothes will smell freshly washed for weeks to come. You can also do this with towels and linen.

___Candles will last a lot longer if placed in the freezer for at least 3 hours prior to burning.

___To clean artificial flowers, pour some salt into a paper bag and add the flowers. Shake vigorously as the salt will absorb all the dust and dirt and leave your artificial flowers looking like new! Works like a charm!

To easily remove burnt on food from your skillet, simply add a drop or two of dish soap and enough water to cover bottom of
pan, and bring to a boil on stove top.

___Spray your TUPPERWARE with nonstick cooking spray before pouring in tomato based sauces and there won't be any stains.

___Wrap celery in aluminum foil when putting in the refrigerator and it will keep for weeks.

___When boiling corn on the cob, add a pinch of sugar to help bring out the corn's natural sweetness

___Cure for headaches: Take a lime, cut it in half, and rub it on your forehead. The throbbing will go away.

___Don't throw out all that leftover wine: Freeze into ice cubes for future use in casseroles and sauces ......... Left over wine? What's that? :)

___To get rid of itch from mosquito bites, try applying soap on the area and you will experience instant relief.

___ Ants, ants, ants everywhere .. Well, they are said to never cross a chalk line. So, get your chalk out and draw a line on the floor or wherever ants tend to march. See for yourself.

___Use air-freshener to clean mirrors. It does a good job and better still, leaves a lovely smell to the shine.

___When you get a splinter, reach for the scotch tape before resorting to tweezers or a needle. Simply put the scotch tape over the splinter, and then pull it off. Scotch tape removes most splinters painlessly and easily.

___Now look what you can do with Alka Seltzer........ Clean a toilet. Drop in two Alka Seltzer tablets, wait twenty minutes, brush and flush. The citric acid and effervescent action clean vitreous China.

___Clean a vase. To remove a stain from the bottom of a glass vase or cruet, fill with water and drop in two Alka Seltzer tablets.

___Polish jewelry. Drop two Alka Seltzer tablets into a glass of water and immerse the jewelry for two minutes.

___Clean a thermos bottle. Fill the bottle with water, drop in four Alka Seltzer tablets, and let soak for an hour (or longer, if necessary).

___Unclog a drain. Clear the sink drain by dropping three Alka Seltzer tablets down the drain followed by a cup of Heinz White Vinegar. Wait a few minutes, and then run the hot water.

Do your friends a favor...
Pass this timely (and some not-so-timely) information on to a friend! I just did! It makes you wonder about ingesting Alka Seltzer, doesn't it?

Have yourself a great day!

15 Easy Ways To Attract

Welcome to Flo's Home Biz & Fun...

If You have a list and You need other ways to attract susbcribers, Alexandria is sharing a lists of her 15 favorite ways...

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
"15 Easy Ways to Grow Your Subscriber List"
by Alexandria K. Brown, "The E-zine Queen"
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

While there are seemingly endless ways to promote your e-zine and attract new subscribers, here's a list of my favorite 15. Which ones are YOU using?

Print this out and check those you already do, and note those you should "get a move on."

___ 1. Tell your clients, associates, and friends. Send out one of your best issues (or your first issue) as a sample issue, inviting them to sign up if they like it. (Never sign anyone up without his/her permission.)

___ 2. Put a signup form on your home page and every page of your Web site. No matter what page people may land on, this way they'll know about your amazing e-zine. Don't let them click away and lose them forever!

___ 3. Use a pop-up or pop-under box on your site. Yes, they're irritating if abused, but I can tell you they work. Studies show pop-ups/unders can increase your e-zine signups by up to 10 times! Give it a try and test it. (Automatic popup creators like Ad Impact make it super easy.)

___ 4. Offer a free goodie for new subscribers. We all get so much e-mail these days, that you have to work hard to get anyone's e-mail address. Offer new subscribers a valuable free article, report, resource list, e-book, etc.

___ 5. Offer a free sample issue on your Web site or have one available by e-mail autoresponder. Some people won't sign up for anything until they can see it first.

___ 6. List your e-zine in free e-zine directories. There are hundreds of these on the Web where people visit to search for e-zines on particular topics. Make sure you're here so you can be found! (One of the best is Charlie Page's Directory of E-zines.)

___ 7. Swap ads with other e-zines. Search online e-zine directories for other e-zines whose target readership matches yours, and contact their publishers. Swap at least three ads in a row for best results.

___ 8. Buy ads in other e-zines. Again, search those directories for other
e-zines whose target readership matches yours, and see their ad specifications and rates. Purchase at least three ads in a row for best results.

___ 9. Plug your e-zine in your e-mail signature. After your usual contact information at the bottom of all your e-mails, be sure to include a two- or three-line plug for your e-zine.

___ 10. Get published in OTHER e-zines. There are dozens of Web sites where other publishers visit to pick up free content for their e-zines. Why not post YOUR articles there for them to use? You get free exposure and plenty of traffic back to your site.

___ 11. Do a co-op with other e-zine subscribers. You can cross-promote with other e-zine publishers on your own, or use an automated service such as Subscription Rocket.

___ 12. Try a pay-for-subscriber service. These services advertise your e-zine for you and bring you subscribers automatically for as little as 10 to 30 cents apiece. One with a good reputation is Lead Factory.

___ 13. Announce your e-zine to all of the professional organizations and associations you're a member of. They usually allow you to make announcements in their newsletters or on their online bulletin boards.

___ 14. Advertise your e-zine on the back of your business cards. In the text, be sure to tell people how they can sign up for your e-zine.

___ 15. Become active in a few online forums where your ideal readers hang out. In your posts, position yourself as a resource in your area of expertise, and include a signature file that promotes your e-zine!

8 "Secrets"

Welcome to Flo's Home Biz & Fun...

Here's a great article by a friend Kathy Smith. It has plenty of good information for anyone that wants to start a profitable Internet Business. I hope it will give You what You need to help You get started with your very own online biz...

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
8 "Secrets"
by Kathy Smith
www.simikathy.com
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

These are the 8 "Secrets" to starting a Wildly profitable Internet business in your spare time. If you're serious about earning an extra income from a Internet business, then you must learn and apply these 8 "Secrets" today.

#1: Leverage Your Time
You'll never-get rich trading dollars for hours. The wealthy let their money and other people work for them. You may only be able to work 10 hours a week, but you can leverage the work of 1,000 other people to create a 10,000 hour work week. That's the way to become wealthy. By the way, you can do this without ever hiring any employees.

#2: Use an Automatic Selling System
Guess what? The number one reason people can't make it in business is because they can't or don't like to sell. The solution is to simply set up an automatic selling system where lead generation, sifting, and selling, is all done for you.

#3: Don't Re-Invent The Wheel
Don't start from scratch. That's the hardest way to do anything. Inventors go through tons of frustration, failed tests, and often ridicule. Find a system that's already working. Then just jump in and follow it. Just do what already works.

#4: Find a Personal Coach
Every top athlete has a coach. In fact, many of the best have two or three coaches. They're there for one reason... to help them be the best they can possibly be. A coach will help you set your course. They'll help keep you on track. They'll take you from where you are today to where you want to be.

#5: Generate Leads
Lead generation is the biggest advantage in most businesses. We'll show you how to put your business in front of the people who are looking for what you have to offer.

#6: Use Tax Advantages
Starting your own online business gives you the advantage of tax benefits not available to the general public. Everyone should make money-from their home with an online business just to save on taxes if nothing else...

#7: Build a Residual Income
Don't just sell a product one time. Find a way to earn a residual income from anything you sell. Sell something today. Earn an income on it every month for the rest of your life. This is how you build real wealth. It isn't by selling a one~time item and finding a new customer for it every day. Work an hour today and earn an income forever.

#8: Set Goals
Most people live paycheck to paycheck all their lives. They hope Social Security will take care of them when they get older. That's a mistake. Social security isn't enough for people to live on today. It definitely won't be when you have to rely on it. You have to make a plan today...or you'll end up in desperation tomorrow.

Visit www.automaticbuilder.com and see how AUTOMATICBUILDER will allow you to take advantage and apply all 8 "Secrets". It's your choice. You can stay where you are right-now in a never-ending spiral... or you can turn the corner and experience the *money, lifestyle, and dreams you've always wanted.

Planet Mars Event !!!

Planet Mars

"The Red Planet" is about to be spectacular, this month!
The Earth is catching up with Mars in an encounter that will culminate in the closest approach between the two planets in recorded history.

The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287. Due to the way Jupiter's gravity tugs on Mars and perturbs its orbit, astronomers can only be certain that Mars has not come this close to Earth in the Last 5,000 years, but it may be as long as 60,000 years before it happens again.

The encounter will culminate on August 27th when Mars comes to within 34,649,589 miles of Earth and will be (next to the moon) the brightest object in the night sky. It will attain a magnitude of -2.9 and will appear 25.11 arc seconds wide. At a modest 75-power magnification

Mars will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye.

Mars will be easy to spot. At the beginning of August it will rise in the east at 10 p.m. and reach its azimuth at about 3 a.m. By the end of August when the two planets are closest, Mars will rise at nightfall and reach its highest point in the sky at 12:30 a.m.

That's pretty convenient to see something that no human being has seen in recorded history. So, mark your calendar at the beginning of August to see Mars grow progressively brighter and brighter throughout the month.

Share this with your children and grand-children.
NO ONE ALIVE TODAY WILL EVER SEE THIS AGAIN!

Enjoy this great event!

Have a great day!

Key Word Research

I really like this article by an AdlandPro friend Peter Novakomic. We have amazing friends at the community that shares wonderful stories, articles and really cool things they offer people.

We are all eager to learn about networking and making our business better, here's one of his article...

Key Word Research

It does seem like a powerful statement, doesn’t it?

It does. There are some of you out there who put little bit or no regard into, or who don’t realize the great importance of keywords. For those of you, keyword research you need to do prior to getting one single page up and running will have a powerful effect on how well you market to your targeted public. No stress.

After all, why does this keyword research seem to be so darned significant?

Let’s assume, we’re together, you and I, and we’re sitting behind the stage. You’re probably the most renowned lecturer in your field. I draw back the curtain and guide you to stand up on the podium to give a speech in front of 200 people. There’s nothing to it. You pick some written notes out of your pocket, and you begin your presentation. For about 35 minutes, you give your speech.

After you’re done, the audience applauds you kindly… like out of obligation. You’re puzzled. The fact is that was one of your top speeches ever. You were convincing, you described the issues, you defined the existing solutions, and then you revealed your suitable product for them.

And then, what seemed to be the problem out there?

This attendance wasn’t expecting you, in fact, they’re waiting for some other guy to speak about a separate matter. In fact, they didn’t have a clue about what you were talking about.

As a result, this wasn’t YOUR public. They weren’t you target market. You prepared every little thing… you perfectly laid it out to be a “slippery path” that pointed exactly to the clear answer to their problems, your product. But unfortunately, you were speaking to the wrong guys.

So, how this has anything to do with keyword research?

The surfers that visit your site are closely related to certain keywords. These keywords phrases are trying to point out the solutions they’re looking for, for a certain problem they have encountered. If you tell to the search engines that your site is known for “niche widget solution”, or using other keywords phrases such as your name, your business name…that is not the solution your prospects are out there searching for.

To find out what keywords your market is looking for as a solution for a problem, all you got to do is keyword research. They are looking for “perfect position” or “correct golf swing”, not “Xtreme Putter”. As far as they’re concerned, they never heard of Xtreme Putter.

Keyword Companion

To change that, you have to do a correct and efficient keyword research.

Predictable Income

Jim Edwards article is about a way to add predictable income to your business. When You look at the numbers, a subscription site -- or some sort of recurring billing -- just plain makes sense if You want to create a lasting online business.

In this article, Jim discuss the "numbers" and if it doesn't get You excited, You should definitely re-think having an online business...

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Explode Your Online Business
With Membership Sites
- by Jim Edwards

www.TheNetReporter.com
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

A cardinal rule of business, whether online or offline, goes something like this: It is ALWAYS easier to resell an existing customer than it is to find a new customer in thefirst place.

Almost every business spends the greatest amount of money and time attracting new customers (advertising and marketing), while viewing retention of existing customers and meeting their needs (customer service) only as a"necessary evil."

One of the fastest and easiest ways to exploit this business principle of reselling existing customers online involves setting up a membership site where customers pay you monthly for a service, updated information, or something else theywant on an ongoing basis.

Let's look at the numbers to see just how fast the revenue can pile up when you add a membership site to your online business.

Let's assume you target a yearly revenue goal of $100,000 selling an ebook about how to buy seized cars at government auctions.

If you sell your ebook for $29, you must sell approximately $8,500 (290 copies) every single month to reach your income goal.

Assuming you spend $15 in pay-per-click, ezine, or text link advertising to obtain each sale, you will net approximately $4,250 each month.

Not bad - not great - but much better than flipping burgers because you would net around $50,000 per year with your ebook.

Now, let's assume instead of a one-time sale of a $29 ebook, you create a membership site that not only shows people how to buy cars at auction, but keeps them up-to-date on the latest sources to find cars, finance them, "flip" them for cash, and more things your customers really want.

Let's assume you charge $29 per month for this membership site. Let's also assume it costs twice as much in advertising to sell each membership ($29 in advertising).

So, following the previous example, let's assume you sell 290 members your first month. Since your advertising expenses doubled, you'll net zero dollars in profit thefirst month.

But, in months 2-12 you rake in about $8,500 per month profit because you carried zero advertising expense!

So instead of netting 45K the first year with a $29 ebook, you net over 90K with a membership site.

By the way, the previous example assumes you don't sell ANY more members after the first month.

Do a little extra math and see the profits you could generate if you brought in just an extra 30 new members each month in your first year.

One of the primary advantages of adding recurring revenue to your online business is that you can predict your income.

Most savvy marketers understand this enables you to service your customers better since you focus on producing quality content for them each month rather than strictly chasing newsales.

And, with the car auction example above, you could even budget in the help of a first-class, part-time research assistant for 15-20K per year to do much of the work for youand still net much more than the one-off ebook model.

Various types of membership sites popular online include: adoption, school classmates, hobbies, employment, dating, search engine optimization, social and business networking, and even clipart.

The choices rate as endless as the many and varied interests of the human brain.

If you want to start an online business, or expand an existing one, before you start marketing any product or service, think long and hard about how you can add a membership site, or some sort of recurring revenue to yourbusiness mix.

Revised Video Service!

Welcome to Flo's Home Biz & Fun...

In Jim's latest article he discusses Yahoo!'s newly revised video service. It's something every serious online marketer needs to use... or is it a 97 lb. weakling we can all ignore? Enjoy the article...

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Yahoo! Jumps On Video Bandwagon
- by Jim Edwards
© Jim Edwards - All Rights reserved
www.TheNetReporter.com
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Despite Google's "Wall Street Darling" status, Yahoo! still rates as the most popular cyber-destination, getting more visitors than any other single website on the Internet.

With the recent surge in production and consumption of online video, it's no wonder that Yahoo! wants a piece of the action, especially with the intense interest from marketers eager to find the best way to cash-in with video advertising.

Though Yahoo! cataloged online video long before Google's entry into the online video market, a massive redesign of Yahoo!'s video interface indicates they want a bigger piece of the online video pie.

When you log onto http://Video.Yahoo.com, it looks pretty much like every other online video search engine, such as YouTube.com or Video.Google.com.

You can search for videos by keywords as well as log in and upload your own videos right through your web browser to share with others online.

You can also easily share the videos with your friends in a number of ways, including: posting it on your blog; sending an email with a link; and adding it to your publicly available favorites for others to see.

However, despite the similarities, Yahoo! Video does carry some variations worth discussing.

Hosted vs. Linked Video

Virtually every single other major video directory on the web hosts all the video that gets displayed on their sites.

Google Video, iFilm, YouTube and others all force the user to upload video to their servers before inclusion in the directory.

Yahoo! Video does both. Users can either upload their videos through their web browsers to the Yahoo! servers or wait for
Yahoo! to find the videos and include them in their directory.

The fact that Yahoo! includes remotely hosted videos in their search results means you have a better chance of finding the videos you want, since you get more potential choices with each search.

However, it also means a greater chance of going on a wild goose chase when a video file no longer exists on a remote server.

Video File Formats

Almost every single other video directory converts uploaded videos to the FLV file format before making them available for viewing.

This enables both Mac and PC users to view videos using the free Flash browser plug-in.

On the other hand, since they both host and link to video, Yahoo! Video makes available multiple file formats, including FLV, WMV (Windows Media Video), MPEG and more.

Since all of these formats don't work on every computer and operating system, I believe this will cause confusion among users.

And, based on my experience, confusion causes people to look elsewhere for what they want.

Overall, Yahoo!'s video service looks more like a "me too" effort than a serious attempt at innovation.

Yahoo! does not include video in their main search results page, the advertising on the video results page is not targeted, and the multiple file formats will create frustration for some users.

Despite any shortcomings, if you publish online video, of course make sure you submit your video to Yahoo! simply because the Web's most popular site is bound to get you some extra visitors.

Courage & Self-Confidence

Courage can be defined as the ability to confront fear, pain, danger, uncertainty or intimidation. Self-confidence can be defined as having trust in one’s own abilities.

These two skills are linked together on the path to success and happiness in your life. You acquire these traits by practicing them whenever the chance presents itself.

Successful people are not naturally more courageous or self-confident. They just learned to “BE” more courageous and self-confident by walking through the fear whenever confronted with it. Successful people are able to do that because what they desire is always greater and stronger than the fear.

Practice makes perfect, so whenever you are called forth to exhibit courage and self-confidence, go for it. Courage & self-confidence are skills that can be learned.

Have fun, be of a light heart and always be kind and gentle with self.
