Google Strikes Back!!!
If you haven't heard the big news, Google on February 24th posted an announcement on their blog. This is not good news for many!
» In Google's own words...
"in the last day or so we launched a pretty big algorithmic improvement to our ranking, a change that noticeably impacts 11.8% of our queries"
» Here's a few comments from Google...
"This update is designed to reduce rankings for low-quality sites, sites which are low-value add for users, copy content from other websites or sites that are just not very useful"
This is not good news for anyone that swipe articles and/or videos from directories... get the full scoop at "Google Blog" to read more.

This change in Google algorithm will definitaly change a few things in the internet community. i think it's a good thing because like you said the ones who swiped their content will be in bad shape.
original content on your own site is what Google has always been after so the person landing on your page is happy like your blog here :)
