Discover Hidden Profits in "Spare Change" Time
- by Jim Edwards

TheNetReporter.com

Fact: Take the spare change out of your pocket every night and put it in a child's piggy bank. At the end of a year you will have at least a hundred dollars to spend as you wish.

Now take this same principle and discover the huge payoff in the "spare change" time you've been wasting all these years.

How often do you sit in front of your computer and wait?

Everyone waits for the computer to reboot, restart, unlock, "scandisk", "defrag", finish printing, download a file from the Internet or generally accomplish tasks that have you sitting twiddling your thumbs for at least 60 to 90 seconds or more.

The shocking truth is that those one, two and three minute nuggets of time contain the seeds for accomplishing all the tasks you never seem to have enough minutes in the day to finish.

Computers represent a double-edged sword. On the one hand, they are supposed to save us time by efficiently helping us with big tasks such as balancing our checkbooks, running our businesses, and doing our taxes.

In reality, it seems the time computers save you gets sucked right back up in time-consuming tasks such as installing software, scanning for viruses and waiting for the computer to restart!

Think about the spare change in the piggy bank example. Now use that same principle to your advantage by developing an awareness of how you spend your "pocket change" time in front of the computer every day.

Small bits of wasted time add up quickly over the course of a day, week, year - all of it in 2 to 3 minute increments. Fifteen wasted minutes a day equals well over 1 ½ productive weeks wasted per year!

Take this "one-day challenge".

Today, try these alternatives to sitting and watching the "hourglass" on your monitor while waiting for your computer to finish a task!

~ Organize your desk
~ Sharpen your pencils
~ Make a quick phone call
~ Check your "to-do" list; if you don't have a "to-do" list make one
~ Write a fast note to a friend
~ Put in a load of laundry
~ Go to the bathroom
~ Get another cup of coffee
~ Pay a bill
~ Catch up your checkbook entries
~ Pick up your office
~ Brainstorm an idea
~ Stand up and stretch
~ Day-dream for about a happy thought for 90 seconds!

Carefully watch how much time you spend in front of the computer waiting for it to do something and then see how many things you can accomplish with that time.

Nothing could reward you more than developing a consciousness about how you spend those spare moments that add up to enough time to write a book, take a trip with your family or take positive actions that will change your life forever.

Use your "spare change" time to accomplish the things you claim you never find time to finish!

Three Words

"How To Make Your Ads, Sales Letters, And Websites Sell Like Crazy"

Welcome Entrepreneur

I recently came across a book that I think you may have an interest in too. Mark Hendricks reveals the secrets of the best direct response marketers and how you can use these strategies to get more sales and profits for yourself... I was amazed!.

Three Words Guaranteed To Make Your Sales Letter Fail...
Get Rid Of Them And Watch Your Responses Skyrocket!
- by Mark Hendricks

When reviewing clients' ads, sales letters, brochures, and other sales pieces there are three words that always need to be deleted to make the letter more effective in generating responses.

Before you hear what the words are, let's make sure that you know where the emphasis of your ads or letters should be. The emphasis, of course, should always be on your customer.

You'll want to speak to your readers needs, wants, desires, and fears.

That's how you'll be able to get your message into your prospects' emotional level brain so that your customer will take action. Remember, all decisions are made on an emotional basis first and then justified by logic later (see "How To Make Your Ads, Sales Letters, And Websites Sell Like Crazy" book for more details).

And the best way to get to your prospects emotional brain is to speak of the benefits your customer receives by purchasing your product/service...not the features...but the benefits.

As a reminder, BENEFITS are the RESULTS your customer will receive by doing business with you and features are the distinguishing characteristics of your product/service.

It's great that your product/service has distinguishing characteristics (features) that separate you from your competition, however, if you show your prospect the desired RESULTS you can provide, then you're showing your customers the BENEFITS received by purchasing your products/services.

Okay, so what are these three words guaranteed to make your ads and sales letters fail?

They are the words that completely take the focus off of your customer...these three words do not speak to your customers' emotions...these three words do nothing to instill desire in your prospect for your product/service...the three words to get rid of in your ads and sales letters are, "I...Me...My".

These three words put the emphasis and spotlight on you, the writer, instead of your customer/prospect. There is no way for you to communicate to your reader's emotions if you only speak about yourself ("I, me, my"). You've got to be writing to your reader, about your reader and your reader's hopes, desires,. wants, dreams, and fears.

That's how you get them to respond to your offer.

Now here's something that you may find interesting.

Have you noticed that in this discussion, that the words "I, me, or my" have not been used?

YOU...have been the complete focus of this discussion...YOU and YOUR customers and prospects.

And at first it's pretty hard to get the words "I, me, my" out of your writing.

Why is that, you ask?

Well, it's because of...you guessed it...your own emotions.

All humans, "way down deep", are only interested in their own wants and desires. That's "way down deep" on the subconscious levels (see the discussion in the "...Sell Like Crazy" book about the three brains and how to communicate with each).

So that's why it's hard at first to get rid of these three words.

But fortunately for your bank account, you can learn to delete "I, me, my" from your vocabulary and learn to turn phrases into "you, your, and yours" that put the spotlight where it belongs, which is on your customer/prospect.

This one little change in your ads and letters will increase your effectiveness and your results immediately.

So here's what you do now.

Go through your ads and letters and re-write any sentence that has the words "I, me, my" in them. By doing this, you'll automatically have to place the spotlight on your customers, which will help you communicate the desired results (benefits) of your product/service to your customers own wants and desires.

Now sometimes it just seems impossible to get around using an "I, me, or my" in a sentence (but make sure you don't give up too easy). When this occurs, use the words "we, us, our" instead. This will soften the focus on "I, me, my" and give you a little springboard to get back to using the words "you, your, yours". But make sure that you've tried every which way to phrase the sentence using "you, your, yours" first.

Give it a try and YOU will see YOUR results skyrocket..from YOURS truly,

Mark

Are You Scared?

Here's another great article I want to share with you regarding working at home. Reading articles are a fantastic way to get the information you need and to get ideas how other people did it...

Are You Scared To Start A Home Based Business?
by Michele Miller

Every year more and more people are working from home, starting their own businesses. Men and women, even teenagers are starting their own home-based business ventures. In the last
ten years work-at-home businesses have tripled, according to statistics. I think it's probably more than that actually. Just look at how many people make a living selling things on EBay!T

It's no wonder really why so many people want to work at home and there are a vast amount of good reasons why.

The costs of traveling, including vehicle maintenance, the cost of gas, child-care, and the huge cost of dry-cleaning, are just a few good reasons why it's cheaper to stay home and work, right?!

Not having to answer to a boss or a supervisor is another great reason too. Being able to set your own hours and work when you want to work is a definite plus as well.

Some people can't see how they are going to do it though. I mean, how are you going to give up work and replace that income and not worry about how you are going to pay the bills? It's
impossible, right? -- Wrong! -- It's not impossible, and it will take some hard work at first, and some extra working hours, but you can do it if you want to badly enough.

Choose a business that will allow you to work in your spare-time and keep your job, and you have eliminated the risks. This is not possible in all circumstances, but for the small business
person, it's the ideal way to go. If this is not possible, make sure you set aside enough income to live on while you get your business established.

There's going to be some sacrifice in the short term, such as working extra hours in the week building your business. But those kind of sacrifices will still allow you to sleep at night and not put you in the poor house, thereby increasing your chances of success!

A lot of people do some "side work, or extra work" at first to gain customers or to save up to start a business or pay for inventory. I know one mechanic who did some evening and weekend
work so he could save enough money to buy his own tools and work out of his garage at home, for himself. Now that garage has grown into two workshops in his back yard and he employs another mechanic to help him out.

I have two friends who do the home parties. One lady sells Mary Kay and the other lady sells candles. Both are quite successful. The lady who sells the candles has only been doing so for just over eighteen months and her income exceeds $50,000 per year. Once you have the vision of working from home, you will find a way to make it happen.

You need DISCIPLINE AND MOTIVATION. That's as important as your business idea. You need to be a go-getter kind of person to have your own business. You need to be willing to get things off the ground yourself, and often willing to work for no financial return at first, or very little financial return. It helps to have vision; you have to sow the seeds to see the flowers. Overnight success is quite rare.

You can help yourself stay motivated by making a "to do list", and "working your business" every day in some small or big way. It doesn't really matter as long as you have a "plan" and keep chipping away at it until it happens. You hear people say all the time that you need to set your goals, well that's great advice, and a "to do list" will enable you to cross off things as you work through them, giving you a feeling of accomplishment as well.

If you really have the dream of working for yourself out of your home, it is possible, you just have to be determined to find a way to do it. Millions of people are realizing this dream, - you can make it happen for you too!

12 Steps

Welcome Friend

Here's a fantastic article about the 12 Steps to creating a Business Online. It's a helpful guide for you at what it's all about with the marketing and sales techniques of the Online world and get that knowlegde to succeed...

12 Steps to Creating a Business Online

=======================================
"E-commerce"

A word pervading our society, making headlines around the world, and causing the stock market to rise and fall with startling ease.

It seems every Business news story centers on some technology company’s "DOT-com" or "DOT-bomb"!

With all the positive and negative hoopla, Business owners of any size company can throw up their hands and feel the "E" world has left them behind.

Every Business owner, salesperson, or professional asked one of two questions in the past year, either "Am I using e-commerce correctly?" or "How do I effectively get involved in e-commerce?"

You can buy hundreds of books and pay thousands in consulting fees to analyze and debate the answer to the first question.

To answer to the second question just follow these 12 steps.

Step 1 - Buy a domain name (your own DOT-com). Go to http://www.NetworkSolutions.com and research names. Can a customer easily spell and remember it?

Step 2 - Write down your online goals and prepare a time and money budget. How soon do you want your e-commerce site up and running? How much will you spend? How many hours will you devote to the site and when?

Step 3 - Surf the web to find other sites you like and dislike. Learn from others’ successes and mistakes by taking the best of what their sites offer and adapting it for your own use.

Step 4 - Design your site on paper. Define elements, look, feel, colors etc.

Step 5 - Hire a professional to set up the graphics and navigation, but with the intention of you or your staff maintaining the site’s day to day operations, communication and updates.

Step 6 - Invest in a digital camera and web publishing software such as Microsoft Front Page or Adobe Acrobat to keep up with the site’s maintenance.

Step 7 - Maintain, change, and update your site at least once a month. (The one exception to this rule are those one-page, salesletter websites. Once you have one of those that performs well and makes sales, don't change it!!)

Step 8 - Promote your site at every opportunity. Tell people about it. Put your web address on your business cards and in all your ads. Some companies even advertise their web address when they put you on hold on the telephone.

Step 9 - Give people a self-serving reason to visit your site. Coupon savings, discounts, special incentives, free information, and free newsletters represent excellent enticements for attracting visitors to your site.

Step 10 - Concentrate on obtaining an email address from every customer and potential customer. Obtain permission to send periodic, value-added mailings to your database. Use a list server to organize and maintain your mailing list.

Step 11 - Always look for and use the simplest solution or option. Whether adding a shopping cart, database or other option to your e-commerce operation, seek out and use the simplest answer for your needs.

Step 12 - Become educated and stay current in the world of e-commerce. Learn the marketing and sales techniques of the online world.

Affiliate Marketer

Welcome Friend

Here's a great article about how you can benefit from the comfort of your own home as an "Affiliate Marketer" by promoting other people products or service for an Online Home Business see more below...

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
15 Reasons to Become an Affiliate Marketer
- by Rosalind Gardner?
- 2004 Rosalind Gardner - All Rights reserved
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

There are HUGE benefits to promoting Affiliate Programs with your own Home Based Internet Business, and I've come up with a list of 15 great reasons to become an Affiliate Marketer. Let's look at each reason separately:

1. No Production Costs - The cost to develop and produce a new product is prohibitive for almost anyone who wants to start a Home Based Business. With Affiliate Programs, production costs aren't an issue. The product has been developed and proven - all on the merchant's nickel.

2. Low Cost Set-up - Compared with building a brick and mortar store, starting a Home Based Internet Business is relatively cheap. You probably already have a desk, Internet-connected computer and word-processing software, which is all the equipment you may need.

3. No Fees for Joining or Licenses to Buy - I often compare doing Business as an Affiliate, with distributing a line of products in the real world. The biggest difference is that the distributor must often pay for a license to distribute products within a limited geographic region. Affiliate programs, on the other hand, are usually free to join, and geographic market reach is limited only by the Affiliate's ability to promote his web site.

4. Choose From Thousands of Products and Services - What isn't sold Online? That list must be shorter than the one describing all that IS sold Online. There are thousands and thousands of Affiliate Programs selling every product under the sun. That makes it easy to find products related to your current or planned web site.

5. No Sales Experience Needed - When I started my Affiliate Business, I had absolutely no sales experience. That wasn't a problem, however. The companies I Affiliated with provided excellent marketing material. Using their sales copy, I was able to get my first Affiliate site up in less than a day.

6. No Employees - The largest expense of most Businesses is employee salaries. Although there might be times when you need or want someone to work for you as an Affiliate, it's doubtful you'll ever have to worry about hiring full or part-time employees. When you have a project you want to hire out, it is easy to find specialists in every computer-related field who can work for you from the comfort of THEIR own homes. You pay only for the project, and never have to worry about on going employee-related benefits and deductions.

7. No Expensive Merchant Accounts Needed - Setting up a merchant account for any Business is a time-consuming and costly Business. It's even more tedious for Internet Businesses. However, merchant accounts aren't a concern when you're an Affiliate. The merchant bears that cost and handles all processing of payments. You never have to lose sleep over potential charge backs, fraud or losing your merchant account when you're an Affiliate.

8. No Inventory to Carry - Even if you live in a small one-bedroom apartment, as an Affiliate you can sell large items without storage concerns.

9. No Order-Processing - Forget the problems associated with collecting and storing names, addresses, credit card numbers, etc. The merchant does all that!

10. No Product Shipping - The cost and hassle to prepare and ship products to customers worldwide could best staggering. Affiliates never have to worry about packaging supplies or postal rates.

11. No Customer Service Concerns - Do you hate the prospectof dealing with nasty people or customer complaints? Don't worry about it! The merchant handles the snivelers.

12. Make Money While You Sleep - What other Business allows you as a sole proprietor to keep your doors open and keep making money even when you take breaks or after you go home for the night?

13. The World at Your Doorstep - The Internet is the world's largest marketplace. You can drive more visitors to your Online store in a day, than many small-town merchants sees in his or her brick and mortar Business in a year.

14. Minimal Risk - The product you chose isn't making money? Dump it. Take down your links and promote another! It's that easy. There are no long-term contracts binding you to products that don't sell.

15. High Income Potential - If you have a job, your salary or hourly wage is probably pre-determined. Maybe there's not much, other than working overtime, that you can do to increase your income. With your own Affiliate Business on the Internet your income potential is limited only by your desire, effort and imagination.

There you have them - all the good reasons to start your own Online Affiliate Marketing Business. Start today and benefit from this incredibly simple, cost-effective Business opportunity known as Affiliate Marketing. The time is right, and the time is now.
